Participative water management in the Netherlands, Belgium and Great Britain
The TRUST project "Transformation of Rural and Urban Spatial sTructures" (part of the Interreg III b North-West Europe) offered water managers from five different regions in the Netherlands, Belgium, England and Scotland an opportunity to exchange experience about the multi-functional usage of water bodies, innovative approaches to connect water management and spatial planning, as well as the participation of stakeholders and the general public in the planning and implementation process of water management projects. Seecon was included as consultancy in the project accompanying theme III "Participatory methods" during the entire project. Seecon supported the cross-national exchange of experience and capacity building in the field of public and stakeholder participation. This work included the moderation of partner meetings as well as providing expertise by developing and introducing innovative approaches to the project partners. In particular, Seecon compiled individual participation plans for the partners, gave support for the implementation of the processes and evaluated these later on. On the 24th of October 2007 the final meeting of the project was held in Haarlem.
